Get ready to print, make a clay animal, craft a mask and create your own punch needle accessory!

Join Gateshead Arts Team for a day of free drop-in workshops at St Mary's Heritage Centre.


Gelli Print with Shiori Naruse

Join Gateshead artist Shiori Naruse for a Gelli print workshop. In the workshop, you'll be able to create your own print inspired by nature. Whilst you're waiting for your print to dry, you can take part in another workshop. Get ready to print! Free. 

Clay Animals with Alex Sickling

Get ready to make a cute little clay pal with local ceramicist and illustrator, Alex Sickling. In this workshop you'll use air dry clay to create your creature using tips and tricks from Alex. Free. 

Birds, Bees, Bugs and Butterflies! Mask Making with Bianco Perry

Design and create a mask with local artist Jennie Eyre (Bianco Perry). Jennie will show you how to use the materials to make a mask based on birds, bees, bugs or butterflies! Free. 

Punch needle workshops

Across the day, there will be two punch needle workshops taking place. This session is for aimed at ages 10 and above and their parents/carers. Everyone taking part, must have a ticket. Tickets are priced at £5 per person.  

In this 2-hour workshop you'll design and create your very own punch needle charm or keyring. Milly will show you the art of punch needle and guide you through the process step by step before you are let loose to create your own. You'll be able to choose from 2 designs, a fried egg or a flower! You'll walk away with a custom-made piece to add to your keys, bags or wherever you like.
